- 3 cups flour (all purpose is fine, or bread flour, some whole wheat mixed in, the choice is yours!)
- 2 TBS sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 packet rapid rise yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
- 1/2 cup milk (any kind)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbs melted butter (optional)
~Makes 1 loaf, or double recipe for 2
Add the flour, yeast and sugar & salt to a stand mixer.
Add the milk and water to a microwave safe bowl or measuring cup and heat for 1 min 15 seconds to about 120-130 degrees on a cooking thermometer.
Add the warm liquid to the stand mixer and mix on low. Once most of the flour has been moistened, add the oil slowly as you’re mixing on low.
Mix/ knead on low-med until the dough has started to gather around the hook and is no longer sticky, about 8 minutes.
Take dough out and form it into a ball.
Add dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover and allow to sit in a warm place until doubled in size, about an hour. I always put mine in the microwave because it’s warm and draft free.
Roll the rectangle into a log, making sure there are no air pockets, then add to your loaf pan.
Preheat your oven to 350.
Cover and allow to rise until about doubles in size while you preheat the oven, about 15 min.
Brush with 2 TBS melted butter if desired and bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
Store bread in an airtight container when it’s completely cooled.
