My mom usually makes these with venison since my dad, brother, and brother-in-law all hunt, so she has an abundance of it. Everyone RAVES about how delicious and tender they are! I make mine with lean ground turkey and I find them delicious and tender also. You can use any ground meat you’d like to make these.
- 3 lbs ground meat
- 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce, plus more if putting in crock pot
- salt, pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients together, adding more breadcrumbs if your mixture is too wet, or more milk and sauce if it’s too dry.
Once you’ve achieved a sticky consistency, roll into balls and put on foil lined baking sheets.
